We work with producers, recyclers, waste handlers, and funders to bring these technologies into everyday use in the built environment.

Our team combines decades of hands-on construction experience with an inventive approach to problem-solving. That mix helps businesses adapt to changing market demands with solutions that fit the plants, crews, and standards they already work with.

Our Team:

Joe Nicholson Sr.

  • Lifetime of entrepreneurial experience. Thirty-plus years of construction product and material development.

  • Seasoned general contractor. Decades of expertise in high-end, complex building projects, with 5 patents for building product innovations.

  • Practical problem-solving. Turns real producer problems into workable mixes and products, designed around the equipment, crews, and quality routines plants already run.

  • Cross-sector reach. Works across construction, concrete, plastics, and waste management, connecting residual plastic with producers who can put it to durable use.

  • Hands-on development. Moves ideas from the lab bench through in-plant production and follow-up testing, shaping each mix to the standard, ingredients, and preferences of the producer.

  • Building the model. Leads the effort to take the platform from trials to licensed regional facilities, starting with the first processing facility planned for the Mitchell area.

Nigel Miller

  • Business builder. More than 35 years of experience opening new lines of business, building strong teams, and driving profitability.

  • Go-to-market strategy. As Managing Partner of Venstage, helps small and mid-sized businesses and startups find customers, build sales pipelines, and grow revenue.

  • Shaping the model. Brings operating discipline to NX-Cast's licensing and facilities plans, from partnerships to the path to the first facilities.

Kathryn Nicholson

  • Research and evidence. PhD in Epidemiology, with training in data analysis, study design, and evaluating evidence.

  • Marketing and AI. Puts AI to work in NX-Cast's marketing and licensing efforts and supports social media as needed.

Research & Data Analyst

Sarah Nicholson

  • Long-standing partner in development. Has worked alongside NX-Cast's founder on product and material development for years, so she knows the work from the inside.

  • Operations and project management. A Western University graduate with experience in project management, sales, and banking, and an entrepreneur at heart.

  • Current industry view. Works as a project manager for a construction company and provides backup support to NX-Cast as needed.
