Lighter, cement-lean building products, made from ELCEMITE™.
Our platform comes from decades of inventing better building materials. These are some of the products behind it, all made from ELCEMITE, our family of lightweight, cement-lean composites.
ELCEMITE™
ELCEMITE is a family of high-performance composites designed to reduce cement use and unit weight while making use of upcycled materials. Mixes can include recycled plastic, glass, and industry by-products, and some include ReLite+.
Upcycled content. Many mixes contain 60 percent or more upcycled material by volume.
Much less cement. Cement-lean systems that reduce the binder behind most of concrete's carbon footprint.
Strength for the weight. Lighter products that keep their strength, suited to applications where load and freight costs matter.
Versatile. Designed for roofing, siding, decking, landscaping, flooring, fencing, and paving stones, and compatible with 3D printing and spray applications.
Durability features. Fiber-reinforced options for ductility and self-compacting, self-curing, and fast-setting properties.
NX-DECK Planks
NX-DECK Planks are a long-lasting, sustainable alternative for decking and patios, for new builds and resurfacing. Non-fading oxide pigments and accent colours give a look and texture resembling slate (NX-stone) or wood (NX-wood), and planks can be custom-styled and privately labelled for specific customers and regions. Planks are 11.5 inches wide, in lengths of 16, 32, 48, 64, and 80 inches, at roughly 5 pounds per board foot.
NX-Fence, NX-Panel and NX-Enclosure
ELCEMITE fencing is designed to look and install like traditional yard fencing, as a durable alternative to wood and plastic that is impact-, decay-, and fire-resistant.
NX-Panel Fence. Fully reinforced panels, each under 60 pounds, profiled on both sides, in wood and stone designs with UV-sealed, non-fading colours. Posts can be concealed with metal cladding or matching ELCEMITE panels.
NX-Block Fence. Lightweight block designs previously unobtainable with conventional concrete: under 10 pounds per square foot, fully reinforced, cast in any profile, with hidden posts and rails and no foundation needed.
NX-Enclosure Panels. Fiber-reinforced to withstand impact, weather, and fire. Compared with a conventional concrete panel, they use 85 percent less ordinary Portland cement and weigh 80 percent less.
PostClad and pergolas
NX-Post Clad is a non-load-bearing column cladding that covers standard 6x6 support posts, with a chase channel included. It comes in shaker-inspired, timber-wood replica, and simple beaded-corner designs. Used with pergolas such as the ELYSIAN, it combines beauty, durability, and a low environmental footprint in one lasting feature.
Fireplace surrounds
ELCEMITE is inert to temperature changes and fully fiber-reinforced, so fireplace surrounds can be cast in almost any style and handled and shipped without breakage. Colour can be integrated, antiqued, or painted to match any interior.
Exterior trims
At half the weight of concrete, ELCEMITE can be cast to exact detail in almost any trim profile. Low porosity and integrated fiber reinforcement make trims resistant to moisture and failure, and they can be pigmented or painted to match any exterior.
E-Scape landscape pieces
ELCEMITE can be cast in fine detail into decay-resistant landscape features such as thin-shell faux rock, garden curbing, faux flagstone, and post-and-plank edging. Lightweight makes pieces easy to handle, and fiber reinforcement makes them resistant to breakage.
NX-Roof Systems
NX-Roof and E-Shingles are proprietary products made from ELCEMITE for sloped structures normally designed for lighter materials. Installed weight is similar to architectural asphalt shingles. Non-fading oxide pigments give the look of slate or cedar, and a matching roof cap is available.
NX-Roof. A metal hanging system with no exposed fasteners, built for demanding roof conditions.
E-Shingles (E-cedar and E-slate). Large panels that install like asphalt shingles, with a place-and-nail design that goes on with a nail gun, is walkable, and attaches directly to the existing roof deck.
Designed for performance. Resistant to wind, hail, fire, freeze-thaw, fading, and staining, and available in custom profiles and private labels.
ELWOOD: Eco-Living, delivered anywhere
The ELWOOD is our proprietary housing concept for small-space living, made possible by ELCEMITE. It is built in a prefabrication factory and shipped like a standard shipping container, in 6-metre or 12-metre high-cube sizes. At its destination, it unfolds, with no crane, into a self-contained living area 2.5 times its shipping size, with a deck, kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, Murphy bed, and solar panels with battery backup. It is designed for remote locations and to be moved again by reversing the process.
The ELWOOD supports local manufacturing under our licensing program, so regional waste can become regional housing.
Potager Planter
Gardening in a limited space, almost anywhere: apartments, balconies, decks, patios, and offices. The Potager Planter is a stackable, vertical grow-box system made from ELCEMITE, fully reinforced and resistant to impact, freeze-thaw, decay, and fire. The base holds three grow areas, and boxes stack two to five high to suit the space or form a living green wall. It is available with or without solar-powered grow lights and a self-watering system. Each component weighs under 65 pounds, and finishes can be customized.
